4 Fun and Easy Indoor Games for Kids

While spending time indoors during this stressful period of social distancing, finding fun and easy games for your kids to play (or for you to play with them) is a great way to pass the time.

4 fun and easy indoor games for kids include the following:

  • Build an indoor obstacle course—It’s easy to set up a fun obstacle course with items in your house such as chairs, balls, tables, blankets, furniture cushions, etc. Make up rules about how a certain obstacle should be gotten around, like crawling under a table or chair, bouncing a ball three times, etc., before moving onto the next obstacle.
  • Play “follow the leader”—This is a great way to get your kids to do what you ask them to do! Every follower has to do exactly what the leader (you) does—dancing, clapping, making a face, jumping, etc. Let each kid take a turn at being the leader, and you’ll have a room full of happy children in no time.
  • Try various types of puzzles—Puzzles are a great way to pass some time while cooped up indoors. Jigsaw puzzles, word puzzles, and three-dimensional toy puzzles are a few favorites.
  • Card games—A variety of simple card games can help children improve several identification skills and reasoning abilities. Try Go Fish, Crazy Eights, War, Pounce, and Spoons (for three or more), to name a few possibilities.
